Beginners courses​

A beginners course is an opportunity to discover if archery is the sport for you.

Archery is a sport people of almost any age and physical ability can enjoy.

(A certain level of physical fitness is required).

Before anyone can join a club, they must have successfully completed a beginners course in archery.

Fast and Loose runs beginners courses that are designed to teach the basic skills of archery in a friendly and enjoyable way.  At the end of the course, you will have been taught how to shoot an Olympic style recurve bow safely with reasonable skill and confidence.

An explanation and demonstration of the other main bow styles, longbow, compound and barebow will be also be given, as well as the other types of archery that are practised in this country.

Courses will consist of either:

October-April four sessions run over two weeks. (Wednesday and Friday evenings each lasting approx 90 minutes).

May-September over two Sundays. (Two 3½ - 4 hour sessions).

Outdoor courses run rain or shine, be prepared for any weather.

All archery equipment will be provided by the club.

The cost of the course will be £50 per person, although if you book 2 places or more, we will give you a 10% discount.

The next course will be run indoors over four evenings.

January 10th, 12th, 17th & 19th.

You must be able to attend all four to complete the course.
